My condolences to the whole family. Betty was one of the most beautiful ladies I have ever known. She was such a treasure from being the nurse in the delivery room when I was born to being my mentor when I taught catechism classes at St. Mary’s to the tea party she had with my daughter. She always called my daughter “my Alex.” Our family was truly blessed to know Betty.

When I think of Aunt Betty I remember her smile. She was full of life and full of fun. I know that Heaven will be a happier place now that she is there.

My deepest sympathies to Betty’s children and grandchildren. I met Mrs Rowe many years ago when I was about 5. My mom and I would periodically stop to visit while driving home to Ogdensburg from our camp.

Betty was so gracious each and every time. Of course she would serve us tea and “something sweet”. She instilled in me a great love of tea and England. She would share some stories of her childhood, the war, moving to NYS, and of course her current life. She always had time for this little girl and her questions!
You mom and grandmother was a proper lady . She was always very kind and the perfect host...

A couple years ago a month or so before my mom passed, we drove past the house across from SUNY. I remember asking mom about her but alas our mom’s had lost touch over the years. I’m sure they are catching up now in heaven. Both my mom and yours were active and loved their families, the Church, and their communities.

I hope the wonderful memories you have of your mom will give you some peace during this time of grief.

I am a friend of Carol and through high school I visited and stayed at the family home. We had tea with Mrs Rowe and I always felt welcomed. She was one classy lady and she should be welcomed to the Downtown Abby family. When I watch the previous films I see Mrs Rowe! Nancy Bronson Kuhl
