Mrs. Beverly J. Hartle

Mrs. Beverly J. Hartle, age 80, formerly of 579 May Rd, Potsdam, NY passed away on March 3, 2013 at the St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena, NY. Funeral services for Beverly will be held on Thursday, March 7th at 11 am at the Garner Funeral Service with Rev. Lee Sweeney celebrant. Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Service on Thursday morning from 10 am until the time of the service. Burial will take place in the spring at the Bayside Cemetery in Potsdam, NY. Online condolences can be sent at www.garnerfh.com. Contributions in her memory can be made to the St. Regis Nursing Home, 89 Grove Street, Massena, NY 13662 or a charity of one’s choice. Beverly is survived by her husband Gordon A. Hartle, of Potsdam; a sister Shirley Chase, of Massena; a brother in law Thomas Maginn and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a sister Avis Maginn and a brother Loren Furgison. Mrs. Beverly J. Hartle was born on April 13, 1932 in Mooers, NY to the late Leo and Minnie (Gladys) Cean Furgison. She attended Brasher Falls Schools. She then attended the Syracuse School of Business. A former marriage to William Welch ended in divorce. She married Gordon A. Hartle on June 24, 1988. Beverly worked in the offices at General Motors, in Massena retiring in 1988, with over 25 years of service. Beverly loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed reading, her pets and going to garage sales. She loved dressing up and participating in parades with their antique cars. She was also a great cook and enjoyed flowers and gardening.
