Calling hours will be held Thursday, July 16th from 2-4 and 7-9 at Garner Funeral Service,

Potsdam, with cremation to follow. Per Darren’s request there will be no funeral.

Darren was born on April 10th, 1981. He was the son of Mark A. and Linda M. (Harter) Powers.

Darren was a 2000 graduate of Canton Central School. After graduation, he worked for Bette and

Cring Construction until a car accident left him paralyzed in 2007. He enjoyed hunting, fishing

and four-wheeling, as well as spending time with his family, friends, and especially his beloved

dog, Gracie. Those who really knew Darren will remember a fiercely loyal man who would do

anything for the people he loved.

Darren is survived by his father Mark A. Powers of Canton, his sister Stacie L. Locy and her

husband Aloysius Jr. of Canton, his niece Ellaina, and his nephews Nicholas and Kaeden, his

maternal grandmother, Lois H. Harter, formerly of South Rutland, NY currently of Hermon, his

uncle, Donald (and Deb) Harter of North Carolina, a large number of cousins, and some amazing

friends whom he considered family.

Darren was predeceased by his mother, Linda M. Powers, his paternal grandparents, Robert D.

and Florence (Jones) Powers, his maternal grandfather, Earl (Pete) Harter, and a brother in his

heart, Darren E. Ames.
