He is survived by his wife of almost 30 years Jean, sons Randy (Paula) Dillon of Chase Mills and Timothy (Lori) Dillon of Potsdam, stepchildren Valerie McCarthy of Parishville, David (Jennifer) Green of Potsdam, Kimberly (Hal) Pryor of North Syracuse, and Francis (Chelsea Sharlow) Green of Potsdam, a daughter-in-law Donna Jarvis of Ogdensburg, a sister Sharon Provasi of Barre,VT, 21 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Don was predeceased by his first wife Viola Black, a son Ronald Dillon in 2006 and a stepson Michael Green in 2011, his siblings Robert, Chester, Armand, Clifford, Reginald, Florence and Roberta, and a beloved companion, his Pomeranian Mr. D.
Donald was born July 25, 1940, a son of the late Victor and Annabelle (Miller) Dillon in St. Regis Falls, NY. He attended Potsdam Central School and went on to work his younger years around the Potsdam area working for different businesses as laborer. He later married Jean Marie Johnson in 1989 in Pierrepont, NY. Don was a former member of the Hannawa Falls Volunteer Fire Department where he served as Assistant Chief in the 1990s, during which time he received a Fireman of the Year award.
He was a straightforward person who enjoyed the outdoors in the form of fishing and camping in Clear Pond, liked watching country westerns and listening to country music. Don was an avid fan of the NY Giants, NASCAR, with Kevin Harvick being his favorite driver, and Clarkson Hockey, by always keeping track of their statistics.
