

Edward R Dominy, age 79 of Colton, NY passed away on February 24, 2026, at the UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, MA. Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Service in Potsdam, NY on March 19th from 4-7 pm. A funeral mass will be held on March 20th at 10:30 am at St. Patrick's Church in Colton, NY. Edward is survived by his brothers Henry Dominy of Colton, NY, Lyle Dominy of Millbury, MA and sister-in-law Elsie Dominy of Fort Jackson, NY. Edward is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nephews and nieces.
He is predeceased by his sisters Jane Skrzypek, Lois Ensby and brother Charles Dominy. He is also predeceased by sister-in-law Carole Dominy (Henry), Margaret Dominy (Lyle) and brothers-in-law Phil Skrzypek (Jane) and Richard Ensby (Lois)
Mr. Edward R. Dominy was born on March 3, 1946, in Potsdam, NY to the late Henry B. Dominy and Esther A. (Mayo) Dominy. He attended Potsdam Central School until the 10th grade, and then transferred to Baldwinsville Academy, graduating in 1964. He went on to complete a tool and die apprenticeship at Syroco Corp in Syracuse, NY. In 1974, he returned to Colton NY and began his 30-year career as a tool and die maker for General Motors in Massena, NY.
Edward spent over 50 years as a volunteer with the Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) Fraternity at Clarkson University and at the national level as an advisor and mentor to countless fraternity brothers. He had a key role in restarting the TKE chapter (Lota Kappa) at Clarkson University 10 Years ago and was recognized by being inducted into the TKE Nationals Advisory Hall of Fame in 2022 as ‘Advisor Emeritus’.
Edward was a member of the High Falls Masonic Lodge and St. Patrick's Church in Colton. He enjoyed traveling and spent several winters in Arizona. In the 1970’s, Ed got his pilot’s license and might have been seen taking off in his Cessna from home base at Potsdam Airport. By the late 90’s, he traded in his wings for adventures closer to the ground and began collecting Model A Fords, which were his pride and joy.
A time and date for his burial will be announced in the spring.
