

Lyle F. Kennedy passed away on February 12, 2026 at the Canton Potsdam Hospital where he had been a patient since February 10th, at the age of 98. He was born on September 12, 1927, in West Stockholm, New York to the late Lloyd F. Kennedy and Huldah Lavinia Cummings. Arrangements for cremation are with the Garner Funeral Service. Lyle attended rural schools and then Potsdam Central High School. He served his country in the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany during the WWII era from 1945 until his honorable discharge in 1947. He served in the Bloody One while in Germany. He returned to the North Country and went to work at Alcoa in Massena where he remained for over 40 years until his retirement. Lyle enjoyed hunting, fishing and wood working.
Surviving him are his wife Aletha Lewin Kennedy, son James (Yong) Kennedy, daughters Julie Custworth, Sue Jackson, Shelly Pius, Jodie Tyo, grandchildren Jered Pius, Dwayne Kennedy and Stephanie Wonser, Alexa Whitney, Raychel Dulin, Jessie Dulin, Robert Jackson, Lyle Jackson; 11 great grandchildren
At the time of his passing, Lyle F Kennedy was a resident of Potsdam, New York.
