Michael J. Casey

Mr. Michael J. Casey, age 69 of Potsdam, NY passed away on September 18, 2017 at his home in the village of Potsdam. Mike was born April 12, 1948 to Geraldine Ranger and the late Jeremiah Jay Casey. Mike was a very fun loving, likeable guy. He had many friends throughout the area and enjoyed his daily routine, which allowed him time with those who brought smiles and laughter into his life. Mike was an avid sports fan who loved the Miami Dolphins, playing golf and playing softball back in the day. He had a great time while employed at Murphy's gas station and enjoyed sharing stories surrounding his time there. Mike then went on to work at Clarkson University in the facilities department, retiring after over 30 years of service. He was a graduate of Potsdam Central School and was a Vietnam War Veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1969-1973. He is survived by his mother Geraldine Casey, son Sean Casey, sisters Sarah (Tony) Fiacco, Mary Jay (Earl) Lenhardt, grandchildren Grace and Riley Casey and many other family and friends. He is predeceased by his father Jeremiah Jay Casey, son Michael Casey and sister Kathleen Bradish.

Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Home on Friday, September 22nd, from 4-7pm. Burial will be held at noon on Saturday, September 23rd, at St. Mary's Cemetery with Rev. Stephen Rocker celebrant.
