Michael D. Rose

Mr. Michael David Rose, age 55 of Potsdam, NY passed away on Monday, March 02, 2015 at his residence in the village of Potsdam while under the care of his loving family and Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, March 6th at 11 am at St. Mary’s Church in Potsdam with Msgr. Robert Aucoin celebrant. Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Service on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9. Burial will take place in the spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Michael is survived by his wife, Bernadette Rose; daughters Amanda (Michael) Solon; Danielle Rose and fiancée Erik Johnson; Megan Rose and fiancée Andy Fyckes and Ashlee Rose and fiancée Jeremy French; brothers Edward (Lori) Rose; Jeff (Jana) Rose and Robert (Fay) Rose; sisters Grace (Dave) Vesper; Marcia (Pete) Blair and Regina Randall; grandchildren Tyler and Addisyn Solon; Gage Jenne and Aubree French; several nieces, nephews, cousins; a dear friend Steve Robinson and a very close extended family. Michael is predeceased by his parents.

Michael was born on October 17, 1959 in Potsdam, NY to the late Jerome E. Rose and Mary Webster Rose. He was a graduate of Potsdam Central School. On December 15, 1984 at the Newman Center in Potsdam, NY he was married to Bernadette Orologio with Rev. John Staslowski celebrant. Michael and his wife celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary this past December. He worked for Clarkson University as an HVAC tech for the past 9 years. Michael was an avid hunter, trapper, fisherman and an all around outdoorsman. He will be remembered for his great smile, sense of humor, backyard maple syrup production and ability to fix everything. He cherished every moment & memory made with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Norfolk Rod and Gun Club and a former member of the Rio Paco Hunting Club.
