

Mr. Peter M. Belmore, age 68 of Potsdam, NY passed away on January 19th at the Canton Potsdam Hospital. A mass of Christian burial for Peter will be held on Friday, January 23rd at 11am at St. Mary’s Church in Potsdam, NY with Msgr. Robert Aucoin celebrant. Burial will take place in the spring with military honors at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Service on Thursday from 4-7pm. Peter is survived by Robin Howard; his son Peter Richard Belmore; sisters Cynthia LaPointe, Nancy (Martin) Forte, Judith ( Jean-Louis) Sampson, and Deborah (Frank) Murphy; brothers Richard (Beth) Belmore and Wayne Belmore; his Uncle Frank J. Pepe; his Aunt Gloria Eddy; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Peter M. Belmore was born on December 19, 1946 in Potsdam, NY to the late Richard Belmore and Gladys Eddy. He was a 1964 graduate of Potsdam Central School. He then graduated from Canton ATC. He then served in the United States Navy in Vietnam for 4 years. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to the States. Peter married Robin Lewis on November 8, 1986. He worked driving Zamboni at Walker Arena and at Pine St. Arena for years. He worked for Clarkson as a risk management officer for years and then for Cheel Arena retiring in 2005. Peter was an avid Clarkson Hockey fan and a member of the Potsdam Elks Lodge. He loved following current and former Clarkson players. He also was a very big New York Giants and Yankees fan.
