

Mr. Raymond F. Bond Jr. of Waddington, NY and formerly of Potsdam, NY passed away on December 23rd at the Canton Potsdam Hospital. Services will be held at the Garner Funeral Service. Friends may call on Monday from 1-3pm. There will be a brief prayer service at 3pm with Rev. Stephen Rocker. Mr. Bond will be buried in the spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Potsdam. Raymond is survived by his son Steve J. Bond of Potsdam and his daughter Lisa M. Bond of Huntersville, NC.
Raymond was born in Massena, NY to the late Raymond Bond Sr. and Marguerite Cutrie. He was a graduate of Massena Central High School. He then received his Cosmetology license. Raymond was a business man in Potsdam from 1960 until his retirement in 2000. He started the Lady Fare Beauty Salon. He operated the Arlington Inn for years. He also owned the Whiskey One, the Bali Hai, the Boutique Florist and Bond apartments.
He was married to Mary Katherine Bond at St. Patrick’s Church in Brasher Falls, NY on January 21, 1961. They were members of St. Mary’s Church in Potsdam. Raymond was a member and former president of the St. Lawrence County, New York Hotel and Restaurant Association, was an active member of the Quebec Rod and Gun Club, the Italian American Club of Massena, and was an honorary member of Alpha Delta Sorority and Sigma Delta Fraternity.
Raymond loved the outdoors he loved to hunt, fish and trap. His pride and joy, in his later years, was his Log Home he built along the St. Lawrence River in Waddington NY.
