Rosalie Richards

Mrs. Rosalie Richards passed on September 17, 2026, at the age of 78 at the Canton Potsdam Hospital. Born on January 24, 1948, to Roy Thatcher and Virginia Butler in Potsdam, NY. Rosalie was living in Norwood, New York with her husband Clayton Richards. Arrangements for cremation are with the Garner Funeral Service. Rosalie is survived by her husband Clayton Richards, her children Steven (Sherry) Richards, Lynn Verrill, Kevin Richards, Anna Richards and Patty Richards; a grandchild Valerie Butler, brother Rick Butler and a sister Laurie Beamis. She is predeceased by a brother Lyle Thatcher.

Rosalie was a graduate of Potsdam Central High School. In Dekalb Junction on October 11, 1968 she was married to Clayton Richards with the Justice of the Peace celebrant. She worked for a few years as a switch board operator for the New York State Troopers in Canton, NY. She Then raised her five children.

Rosalie had several things she enjoyed. She loved deer watching in her back yard, going on long car rides and was a cat lover. She often spent her free time watching Forensic Files and Bluey on TV. She loved the challenge of doing all sorts of games and puzzles and was consistently eager to learn new things. Rosalie will surely be missed.
