Rose A. Blackwell, age 73 of Potsdam, NY passed away unexpectedly at her residence in the Village of Potsdam on April 30th. Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Service on May 12, 2025 from noon to 2 pm. Burial will follow the calling hours at Garfield Cemetery in Potsdam, NY.
Rose is survived by her son Jeremy Blackwell; husband Onna Blackwell; sisters Belma (Robert) Franklin, Queen (Peter) Pearson and Julia Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Rose was born on September 23, 1951 in Manning, South Carolina to the late Oscar and Martha (Brown) Johnson. She was a graduate of Manning High School. Rose worked for years as a bank teller for Drydocs Savings Bank in NYC.
