Rosemary L. Collins passed peacefully on July 26, 2026, at the age of 100, and was a resident of South Colton, New York. She was a dedicated and loving mother who was cherished by her family and friends.
Rosemary was born October 12, 1925, in Miramichi, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Jeremiah and Teresa Sutherland. Rosemary graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing, Montreal, Quebec as an RN and worked alongside her husband, Robert M. Collins, MD in his medical practice until his retirement in 1984.
Survivors include sons, Michael, Brian (Vicki), and Jeffrey: daughters, Pamela Smith, Christine Collins and Stephanie (Guy) Ricci, grandchildren, Justin Smith, Brendan, Ryan and John Collins, Joseph and Teresa Ricci, Victoria, Miranda and Joshua Collins, her great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Robert, Sr, son Robert Jr., son-in-law Robert Smith, and two brothers, Jedediah and Frank Sutherland.
Calling hours will be Thursday, July 30th, 2026 from 4 to 6pm at Garner Funeral Service, Potsdam. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services on Friday, July 31st, 2026 at St. Patrick's Church, Colton, NY at 10:30am. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Potsdam. Father Stephen Rocker officiating.
