

Dr. Salvatore Corridore,beloved husband of Mary Corridore, passed away on Monday, August 5th at Massena Memorial Hospital. Sal was 88 and a resident of Potsdam NY for 52 years. Born in Palazzolo, Sicily, he immigrated to the United States in 1952, were he started his life working as a veterinarian for the USDA.
His career brought him to Potsdam in 1961, where he worked as a veterinarian meat inspector at Pahler Packing Company and remained there until his retirement. Sal, also known by many as “Doc”, was best known for his unwavering passion and dedication to his horses,love of good food and “breaking bread” with friends.
Sal is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years Mary, daughters Elisa Corridore, Gianna Flannery, son, John Corridore, son-in-law Gerry Flannery, daughter-in-law Lori Corridore and grandsons, Bryan Flannery and Vittorio Corridore.
Sal will be buried in Palazzolo , Sicily.
Mary A. Corridore, beloved widow of Salvatore Corridore and devoted mother of Elisa Corridore, Gianna Flannery, and John Corridore, passed away Monday, September 2nd at St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena. Mary was 85, a resident of Potsdam NY for 52 years and married to Sal for almost 61 years.
Born in New York City, Mary graduated from the Parson’s School of Design. Prior to and for a time after marrying Sal, Mary was a designer for Christian Dior. Not only was she a talented designer and seamstress, but also a singer, pianist, and of course, wonderful cook. However, for those that knew her, Mary will most be remembered by her beautiful smile, love and devotion to her husband and family, her warm and welcoming demeanor, her style, and a spirit greater than her presence.
Mary and Sal came to Potsdam in 1961, and it was there she raised their three children. In 1974 she opened and managed Park View Hairstyling in Canton and became a part of the community for almost 20 years.
Mary is also survived by her sister Joan Cappelleri, son-in-law Gerry Flannery, daughter-in-law Lori Corridore and grandsons, Bryan Flannery and Vittorio Corridore.
Mary’s ashes will be laid to rest in Brooklyn, New York at the Green-Wood Cemetery, next to her parents Maria and Giovanni Interligi.
A joint memorial service for Mary and Sal will be held on Tuesday, October 8th at the Garner Funeral Home, in Potsdam from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
