Steven DeShane

June 27, 1952December 27, 2019

Mr. Steven J. Deshane Sr., age 67 of Norwood, NY passed away on December27th at the Highland Nursing Home in Massena, NY where he had been a patient since June of 2017. Arrangements are with the Garner Funeral Service. There will be no calling hours or funeral service. Contributions in his memory can be made to the American Cancer Society. Steven is survived by his wife Judith Deshane; sons Brian (Naday), Wade, Steven Jr. and David Deshane; daughters Pam Akins and Kristy (Louis) Baxter; brothers Thomas, Bruce, Reggie and Michael Deshane; sisters Diane Garrow, Janice Casselman and Becky Deshane; grandchildren Kensie and Michael Baxter, Natalie, Isabella and Faithanne Deshane and Corbin, Kyle, Wade Jr. and Lillianna Akins and a great grandchild Autumn Baxter. Mr. Steven J. Deshane Sr. was born on June 27, 1952 in Rochester, NY to the late Francis Deshane and Geraldine Green. He was 1970 graduate of Madrid Waddington Central School. On December 16, 1980 in Potsdam, NY he was married to Judith Ashley. Steven worked for several years for the American Red Cross in Potsdam until becoming disabled in 1998 after suffering a stroke. Steven enjoyed playing the guitar and drums. He played in a band for years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also known as quite the jokester. He was always playing tricks on the nurses and enjoyed making them laugh. His most favorite thing to do though was to spend time with his precious grandchildren. Steve always used to admire my ringlets. He would always say he wanted to cut it off and keep it. He was quiet the jokester. RIP Steve.
