

Tony was born on February 15, 1957 to Wayne Anthony and Marilyn (Hughto) LaPointe Sr. in Potsdam New York. He is pre-deceased by his parents.
He is survived by his loving partner of 27 years, Barbara Adams, and his daughter Jessica LaPointe of Los Angeles, CA, his sister, Michele LaPointe of Norwood, NY, and his brother, Paul (Gina) LaPointe of Hannawa Falls, NY.
He is also survived by his children Michael (Colleen) Volforte, Jennie (Michael) Smith, and Christopher Adams; and his grandchildren, Nicholas and Ava Volforte, Emma Smith, and Sarah, Gracie Michael and Gage Adams. Additionally, he is survived by his nieces and nephews Colin (Tammy) LaPointe-Potter, Danielle McCarty, Courtney LaPointe, Jordan (Kinsey) LaPointe, Kristin (Bart) Oegema, Michael (Debbie) Knaebel.
Tony enjoyed fishing, tinkering with all sorts of engines, driving around town with his truck and trailer and telling stories and jokes. He loved to see everyone laugh. Tony was a trusting and unique individual with an abundance of compassion. He was always concerned about how others were doing or helping them. He was loyal to the utmost degree with his friends. Tony was sure to let you know he loved you verbally, usually followed by a hug. He was strong and resilient beyond expectations because of his unmatched tenacious spirit.
Tony was a proud veteran of the Army National Guard. As the owner and operator of LaPointe’s Outdoor Work, Tony could be found plowing snow, mowing lawns, or trying to find a fishing buddy. He enjoyed visiting with friends and family at Foxy Roxy’s or McDonald’s in Potsdam and truly never met a stranger. Tony was indeed one of those very special people who treated others with kindness, unique humor and acceptance for who they were. He will be greatly missed.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday, November 4, from 3-7 PM at Garner Funeral Service. Services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 5 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Bayside Cemetery in Potsdam, NY, after which family and friends will gather at the Church of the Nazarene, Potsdam.
