William G. Andrus III

Mr. William G. Andrus III, age 61 of Potsdam passed away on March 11, 2018 at the Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, NY. Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Home in Potsdam on Saturday, March 17th from 1-3 pm. Funeral Service will be held at the Garner Funeral Home on Saturday at 3pm with Rev. Deborah Packard celebrant. Contributions in his memory can be made to the American Diabetes Society. William is survived by his wife Linda Andrus, brothers Wayne and Chris Andrus and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and his brother Gerald Robert Andrus. William was born March 8, 1957 in Potsdam, NY to William G. Andrus I and Shirley Dejoy. He was a graduate of Potsdam Central School in 1975. He served in the United States Army for 6 years. He worked for CSX Railroad for 15 years and then was a maintenance man at Racquette Acres Apartments in Potsdam. He was married to Linda Baronas on July 18, 2008 in Cape Vincent, NY. He was a longtime member of the Potsdam Volunteer Fire Department for 27 years. He was also a member of the American Legion. He liked to read historical books, going to firemen events and very interested by fire engines. He enjoyed watching high school football and enjoyed playing football in his high school days.
