Alexander Gutow

June 24, 1934 – May 14, 2015

Prattsburgh, NY: Born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1934. Alex was a United States Air Force veteran and the owner of Independent Plumbing and Heating in Prattsburgh, NY. Alex passed away peacefully surrounded by family on the evening of May 14, 2015. Predeceased by his loving wife of 49 years, Jackie Gutow. Survived by sister Anne, brothers Gene and Bob; loving and grateful children, Jerre, Tom and Tina; grandchildren Brandy McShee (Chris) and Tanya Gutow (mother Sheila), Kari Gutow (mother Mary), Jennifer and Erica Schubmehl (father Daniel); great grandchildren, Taylor and Wyatt McShee, Zachary Grant, Zander Gutow, Adam and Gabriella Beams. He also leaves extended family, and good friend and fishing buddy, Doug. Alex was full of life and appreciated a good laugh. He was locally known as an expert fisherman and loved Keuka Lake. Friends are invited to call Tuesday, May 19 from 2-4pm and 5-8pm, with funeral services held on Wednesday, May 20 at 11am at Bottoni-Wood Funeral Home, 4 Mechanic Street, Prattsburgh, NY.
