
Clarence was born in Prattsburgh on January 14th, 1928, the son of the late, Floyd and Mable (Wetmore) Smith. He was a lifelong dairy farmer taking over the family farm from his father. He was a member of the Grange, had flown a plane and enjoyed square dancing. Besides his love of farming he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his parents, Clarence was predeceased by his brothers, Albert and Frank Smith and sister, Margaret Hansen.
Clarence is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Margaret (Congdon) Smith; children, Evelyn (Jack) Drumm, Linda (Donald) Kemp, Robbin Smith, Betty (William) Seligman, Kenneth Smith, and Calvin (Wendy) Smith; thirteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; and sister, Florence Snyder.
A graveside service celebrating his life will be held at a later date in the spring.
