David R. Hively

A private graveside service for David will take place at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in David’s memory to Prattsburgh Central School Teachers Association Scholarship Fund, One Academy St., Prattsburgh, NY 14873.

David was born in Buffalo, NY on April 23, 1938 and was the son of the late George & Thelma (Buncy) Hively. He was a 1956 graduate of Warsaw Central School. David attended Cortland State receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and went on to earn his Master’s Degree at Slippery Rock State College. He started his teaching career in Syracuse, NY in 1961 and then moved to Prattsburgh in 1963, retiring in 1993.

He was previously deceased by his wife, Carmelita A. “Bunny” Hively. David is survived by his children, Lisa (Brian) Schuck of Branchport, NY, David R. Hively Jr. of Elmira and Lorraine (Earl) Owens of Bath, NY; brother, George (Wilma) of Leroy, NY; sisters, Patricia (Paul) Campbell of Gainesville, NY and Cathy (Roger) Baker of Warsaw, NY; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews.
