

Albert Bates Wadsworth, age 78, of Prattville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026. Born on July 4, 1947, Albert lived a life defined by service, devotion, and unwavering love for his family and community.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Ruth Wadsworth; Sisters Jean Free and Agnes Mills. He leaves behind a legacy of strength and kindness through those who loved him most: his devoted wife, Sandie Wadsworth; his daughter, Shea Wadsworth Dunway (Jeff); his brother, Alfred Wadsworth; and his cherished grandchildren, Lance Corporal Mason Dunway (Avery) and Logan Dunway.
For more than 40 years, Albert faithfully served as a police officer with the Prattville Police Department. His dedication to protecting and serving the community reflected his deep sense of duty, integrity, and compassion. He wore his badge with pride and honor, earning the respect of colleagues and citizens alike. His commitment to service extended beyond his profession and into every aspect of his life.
Albert was also a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church, where his faith was a guiding force. He found strength in his church family and lived out his beliefs through quiet acts of kindness and steadfast support for others.
Above all, Albert was a family man. He treasured time spent with his wife, daughter, and grandchildren. Whether sharing stories, offering guidance, or simply enjoying moments together, he created memories that will be held close in the hearts of his family forever.
A service to celebrate Albert’s life will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel in Prattville, located at 347 East Main Street, Prattville, Alabama with visitation from 11-1 PM.
The family will accept flowers or donations can be made to First Presbyterian Church in honor of Albert’s life and legacy.
