On the day that she went home, April 23 2019, we celebrate the life of Alice Rose Dozier and who she was. Daughter born to John and Pearl Williams on June 11, 1945. Wife to Robert for over 50 years..Sister to Jo and Larry Monfee. Mother and in law to Robby and Carole. Nana and friend to Stephen and Sabrina. Sister in law to J.C., Larry, Harold, Mary, and Mary. Aunt to Maranda, Jon, Pam, Todd, Harold Jr, Cindy, Rory, Carol, Shannon, Chris, and Michael. Cousin, family, and friend to many. A strong original member of the Dozier wife club with Carole, Mary, Marilyn, and Ovelle.
She was a helper when the job called for it. She sang pretty when he sang loud, but she didn't play the piano. She cooked meals that were good baby, but not on Sunday nights. She was a great shot, even with just one shot. She taught how to catch a ball, how to shave, and how to be self-reliant by 14. She camped and she dog-paddled. She gave shots, sewed up cuts, bandaged big owies, and held hands. She was a friend and listened when something needed to be heard. She reminded us when it was time to put shoes on. She built walls and chopped down trees. She put up wallpaper and put out fires. She turned trash into treasure. She made purple brown once. She loved Little Debbie Brownies, plum preserves, ice cream, Junior Mints and Reese's just a little too much.
She was called by many names and is loved by us all, her family and friends.
A visitation for Alice will be held at Ridout's Prattville Chapel Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Graveside service will take place at County Line Christian Cemetery Friday, April 26, 2019 at 1:00 PM.
