Mrs. Althia June Gray

A Home Going Celebration will be held Monday July 7 at 3:00 PM at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel with Pastor Paul Spargo officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Gray was born June 4, 1937 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Jack Cleveland Dempsey and Althia Mae Surles Dempsey. She was a longtime member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Montgomery and loved to spend time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Arthur “Jack” Gray and a sister Frances Smith.

She is survived by her daughter, Vanessa Gray of Prattville; a son, Anthony Paul “Tony” Gray of Seattle, Washington; a sister, Sara “Jackie” Haley of Prattville; two aunts, Margaret Surles and Fannie Kate Surles, both of Prattville; her special doggies, Chessy and Sandy; her grand doggies, Cissy and Gabby; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. n lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 8197 Decker Lane, Montgomery, Alabama 36117. Visitation will be at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday and from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Monday
