Andrew Jackson "Jack" Lawrence

LAWRENCE, Andrew Jackson, “Jack”, 76, of Prattville passed away Thursday August 20, 2015. Funeral services were held Sunday August 23 at 2:30 PM at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Pastors Dave Burns and Jeff Fray officiating. Burial was followed in the church cemetery.

Mr. Lawrence was born September 9, 1938 in Union Springs, Alabama to the late Andrew J. Lawrence, Sr. and Frances Goodson Lawrence. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Okinawa and Thailand. He had worked for 10 years with the Kershaw Company and was retired from Union Camp / International Paper Company with 37 years of service. Jack was a long time member and deacon of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He loved Alabama Football and deer hunting.

Other than his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy and Robert Lawrence.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Merrell Lawrence; a daughter Pamela Lawrence; three son and daughters in law, Clint and Marie Lawrence, Steve and Sabrina Lawrence, Joel and Tonya Lawrence; a sister and brother in law, Elizabeth and Terry Cook; a brother and sister in law, Larry and Eileen Lawrence; 15 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, including many others who lovingly called him” Granddaddy”, and a host of nieces, nephews, other close family members and friends.
