Andrew Francis Jones

Andrew Francis Jones, 88, a former Prattville resident, passed away Saturday December 23, 2017 in Stockbridge, Georgia. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Friday at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel followed by funeral services with military honors at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Tom Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Mr. Jones was born on August 10, 1929 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Andrew Haslip Jones and Mary Elizabeth Francis Jones. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served with the “Hurricane Hunters” weather photo reconnaissance unit. He retired after 35 years of service with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee and had worked in the real estate investment and management field. He was an avid golfer for many years and enjoyed salt water and fresh water fishing. He also enjoyed working with the Prattville Historical Society. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lucile Moncrief Jones in 2006. He is survived by a son Andrew Moncrief Jones and his wife Venita; three daughters, Julia Elizabeth Cooke, Ellen McCall Corsino and her husband, Donny, Emily Beckwith Rivers and her husband Cary; eight grandchildren, Evan Andrew Jones, Andrew August Hetzel, Gregory Andrew Edwards, Elizabeth Grace Vivone, James Samuel Vivone, John Vincent Vivone, Charles Terrell Gregory, Allison McCall Rivers; three great grandchildren, Kaytlyn, Ashlyn and Colin; daughter in law Jennifer Hetzel and a host of other relatives and close friends.
