

Aubrey Edward (Buddy) Middlebrooks, age 82, passed away at home on August 18, 2022, his 82nd birthday. Mr. Middlebrooks was a lifelong resident of Autaugaville, Alabama. Visitation will take place on Monday, August 22, 2022, at Autaugaville United Methodist Church from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM with Reverend Tony Antonelli, Dr. Lee Carter, and Mr. Michael Gillyard officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Middlebrooks was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey Middlebrooks and Grace Motley Middlebrooks and Myrtle Middlebrooks, sister Mary Alice Johnson (Woody), and brothers Alvin Stewart and Aaron Stewart. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Fatima Clifford Middlebrooks, his children Cindy Middlebrooks, Paul (Suzy) Middlebrooks, Walter (Tania) Middlebrooks, and Peggy (Curtis) Goins; 4 grandchildren, Michael Turner, Matthew (Michelle) Turner, Dawson Middlebrooks, and Alli Middlebrooks; and 5 great grandchildren, Addie, Leah, Isaac, Camryn, and Caylyn Turner as well as his beloved fur babies. He is also survived by his brother, Wayne (Elaine) Stewart, and sisters Janet (Merrill) Evans, Noodle Taylor, Ercille Dixon, and Jenny Lawrence as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Middlebrooks retired from International Paper and Autauga Farming Company. He loved to operate the bulldozer, motor grader, and backhoe. He enjoyed going to the river, fishing, and just riding in the boat. He cherished spending time with family, friends, and his fur babies. He was loved by all that knew him.
Pallbearers will be Darryl Johnson, Johnnie Johnson, Dewayne Johnson, Keith Johnson, Frank Smitherman, Kyle Stoffel, and Darrin Stewart. Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Carter, Bobby Shackelford, Mike Adams, Phillip Chandler, Ken Owens, Winford Palmer, Autauga Farming Company, Milton (Buzz) Wendland, Andy Wendland, Jimmy Wendland, Suzie Rhodes, Carol DeLoach, James Earl Wallace and Bill Lipscomb.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Buddy’s memory to Autaugaville United Methodist Church (207 North Autauga Street, Autaugaville, AL 36003) or Habitat for Hounds, Inc. 777 Wimbish Road, Macon, GA 31210.
