Barbara Fowler Prater

PRATER, Barbara Fowler, formerly from Highland Falls, NY, and longtime resident of Prattville, AL, passed away on March 31, 2012. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, teacher and member of her community. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church and of the Pairs & Spares Sunday School Class. She was a retired elementary school teacher of over twenty years in the Autauga County School System. She is preceded in death by her parents, Littleton Tazwell Fowler and Helen Croley Fowler; her sister, Helen Fowler Monroe and her grandson, Scott Nicholas Hudman. She is survived by her two daughters, Virginia Prater Pate (Jay), Sandra Prater Hudman (Andy); two sons Richard H. Prater, Jr. and Mark D. Prater (Carol); eight grandchildren, Robert Patterson, Anna Hudman, Drew Hudman, Cole Prater, Madison Prater, Jessica Prater, Trinity Prater and Fowler Prater. Visitation will be Monday, April 2, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 4:00 PM from First United Methodist Church of Prattville with Dr. Gorman Houston and Rev. Rob Couch officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
