Bruce Gearhart

Dr. Bruce E. Gearhart, Jr., 90, of Prattville, Alabama and formally of Harper Woods, MI, passed away August 3, 2025. He was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Eric Gearhart; parents, Bruce E. Gearhart Sr., and Alameda D. Gearhart. He is survived by his wife, Marjory A. (Stewart) Gearhart; brother, Thomas Gearhart; children, Angela M. Gearhart, Bruce Earl Gearhart, Laura Anne (Gearhart) Gruno, Dorothy Jean Gearhart and Christopher John Gearhart; grandchildren, Alexander, Madison, Hannah, Rebecca, Jonathan, Allison, Samantha, Olivia, Mary, Emma, Matilda, Dawson and Haydn; great grandchildren, Angelo, Lucia, Isabelle, Blaise, Cecelia, Felix, Dominic, Ignatius, Susanna, Sebastian, Jonathan, Joseph, Juliet, Benjamin, Daniel V.

Dr. Gearhart was a writer and a poet. He was a Volksmarcher, swimmer, athlete, horseman, adventurer, traveler and Genealogist. He collector of art, adventurer and curious about all things. He was a retired Air Force Veteran, retiring at the rank of Major. He also worked for the State of Alabama Defense and Civil Air Patrol.

Services for Dr. Gearhart will be Monday, August 11, 2025 at 6 PM at Ridouts Prattville Chapel with the visitation from 4:30-6:00. Burial will follow Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 10:15 AM at Alabama National Cemetery with full military honors.

The family would like for guests to bring any memorabilia regarding Dr. Gearhart to the service to place on display for all to view.
