Carolyn A Thorn

Carolyn Mills Thorn, 85, of Booth, Alabama, passed away December 23, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddy Alton Thorn; son, Freddy Alton, Jr. (Al); parents Rebecca and Carter Mills; and brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Agnes Mills. She is survived by her children, Ken and Joni; grandchildren, Keary, Trey (Natalie), Rachael (Justin), Corey (Ashley); great-grandchildren, Aubrie, Kaisyn, Jaxson, Greyson, Charlie Grace; and her lifelong best friend, Fannie Mae Brady. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends, cousins, and other family members.

Carolyn was a God-fearing woman who had various responsibilities in church over her lifetime. After marrying and leaving Booth, Carolyn lived in Birmingham, Huntsville, and Dothan before returning home to Booth. Over the years, she was employed both in schools and in retail. By far, her favorite work was in church daycare where she not only loved the children but also was loved by the children. However, her most important role was caring for her family and friends, whom she loved dearly. And she was always more than willing to share her cooking skills with them.

Visitation for Carolyn will be Friday, December 27, 2024, at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel, 347 E. Main St. from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. with the services to follow at 11:00. A private burial service will follow at Booth Cemetery.
