Ernest Wayne Parker, Sr., born on June 7, 1936, went home to be with the Lord after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease on May 21, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dawson Floyd and Mary Lee Parker; brothers, Robert and Donald Parker; sister, Viola Osborne (Robert) and Millie Parker. He leaves behind his loving wife of almost 24 years, Linda Pittman Parker and children Ernest Wayne Parker, Jr. (Sharon) and Randall Craig Parker (Donna); step-sons, Mark Thompson (Michelle) and Brett Thompson (Lesley), Allan Schwindling; a step daughter in law, Iria Collier; brothers, Jack (Francis), Thurmon (Mary), Roy (Mary, previously deceased); sister Lucy Funderburk (Robert); seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Wayne was born and raised in Friendship, Alabama. He was owner-operator of Alabama Auto Magic for over 30 years and made many friends throughout his travels. He loved fishing, hunting and boating in his spare time.
Wayne cherished his family, especially the grandchildren, twins Amanda Lyn and Wesley Kae Parker, Madison Layne Parker, Cameron and Cole Thompson, Crystal Rawls, and Cristina Zwissler. He loved the Lord and missed attending the worship services at Glynwood Baptist Church. He was always willing to help anyone who needed it.
A Celebration of Life was held May 24th at 2:00 PM at Glynwood Baptist Church with Pastors Mike Denning and James Jackson officiating. Burial followed in the Friendship Cemetery, Tallassee, Alabama.
