

SIEBERT, Evita Azarcon, 69, of Prattville, passed away Sunday November 29, 2015. Mrs. Siebert’s Funeral Mass was held Thursday at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Fr. Linn Harbour officiating. Burial followed at 2:00 PM at the Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Alabama Hwy 119, Montevallo, Al. 35115.
Evita was born January 30, 1946 in the Philippines to the late Eustaquio Azarcon and Benita Sanchez Azarcon. In 1973 she was selected for a Fulbright – Hayes Scholarship. She returned to the Philippines in 1975 to fulfill a two year commitment to the scholarship program. Afterwards she immigrated to the U.S. upon her marriage to 1st. Lt. Michael Siebert. She established a career as a professional librarian serving at U.S Air Force Bases in the United States, Okinawa and England. She won awards for the best library in both PACAF and USAFE. She retired from the Maxwell AFB Air University Library in 2012 after many years of service. Mrs. Siebert loved participating in church activities including Marriage Encounter Eucharistic Ministries as well as other various social activities. She was a master gardener and enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by her loving husband of forty years, Mike Siebert; a daughter and son in law, Kim and Kevin Walker of Tuscaloosa; two sons and daughters in law, Michael and Katie Siebert of Manassas, Virginia, Steven A. Siebert and Neta Ezer Siebert of Atlanta; four grandchildren, six brothers and two sisters in the Philippines and Canada, and a host nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
