

Garrett was preceded in death by his grandparents George Wiley and Lucy Elaine Millwood and Lloyd and Velma Oates his friend Luke Hatfield and other cherished loved ones who welcomed him home.
He leaves behind many family members and friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
He is survived by his mother, Kimberly Tajuan Millwood Mulder; his father, David Wayne (Maria) Oates; his sister, Jennifer Starr (Thomas) Gentry; and his brother, Christopher Lloyd (Melissa) Oates.
Garrett is also survived by his aunts, Traci Millwood, Tabitha Millwood, Tiffany Farnworth, Donna Jordan, and Dorthy Bozeman. His uncles Mickey Brown, Howard Brown, and Jerry Brown. He leaves behind his cousins, Grace Farnworth, Anna Farnworth, Lily Farnworth, Sarah Farnworth, and Abigail Farnworth.
He was a proud uncle to his nieces, McKenzie Gentry and Theresa Gentry, and his nephews, Braxton Oates, Jaxon Oates, Ryker Oates, Thomas Gentry Jr., and Sterling Gentry.
Garrett will also be deeply missed by his dear friends, Earl Bush and Geo Sanchez and Logan Sanchez, along with many others whose lives he touched over the years. Here in the United States and also in Thailand.
Though gone too soon, Garrett’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His family asks that he be remembered for the kindness, laughter, and love he shared with those around him.
Visitation will be held at Ridout's-Brown-Service Prattville Chapel, 347 E. Main St, Prattville, Alabama 36067, on June 20, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 pm.
