

Gerald G. Irvin, 93, of Prattville, Alabama, passed away on July 7, 2026. Born in Iowa City, IA on February 2, 1933, Gerald lived a life marked by steady devotion to others, quiet reflection, and enduring faith.
Gerald served four years in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, answering his country’s call with humility and a sense of duty that remained evident throughout his life. In every season, he carried himself with a thoughtful spirit and a selfless regard for those around him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenora Irvin, and his second wife, Macie Lee Irvin; his parents, Faye and Willard Irvin; and his three brothers, Marc, Roger, and Carol.
He is survived by his son, Douglas Lee Irvin, of Prattville, AL, and his daughter, Lisa Lea (Irvin) Ramey, of Rock Lake, ND. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jeremy Irvin of Dothan, AL; Mariah L. Irvin of Clarksville, TN; Jeff Hornsby of Pensacola, FL; Molly Ramey, Katy Ramey and Martin Ramey of Grand Forks, ND; and Anna Ramey of Rock Lake, ND; and step-granddaughter Heather Lynn Gardner; and by his great-grandchildren, Ayden J. Irvin of Dothan, AL; Joshua Hornsby of Pensacola, FL; and Ryder David Gardner of Millbrook, AL.
Gerald also gave his time in service to community and children as a clown with the Shriners of North America—an expression of the compassionate heart that guided him. He loved helping others, and he especially adored all the kids, grandkids, and great grandkids who brought him such joy and purpose.
