
Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Sunday May 24th at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel followed by her funeral service at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Tony Butler officiating. Burial will follow in the Carter Family Cemetery.
Mrs. Carter was born February 4, 1928 to the late Joseph L. Cox and Molly B. Wilkins Cox. She was a longtime member of the Fountain of Grace Church (formerly the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church) Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her children, Bobby Steve Carter and Patricia Ann Carter. She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Otis L. Carter; grandchildren, Traci Roberson, Mike (Anne Marie) Roberson, Cathee Carter (Bob) Gipson, Steve (Meloni) Carter, Scott Roberson, Amy Carter (Grady) Myers, Nancy Carter (Rex) Simms; great grandchildren, Spencer and Stuart Knight, Ben, Justin, Kayla and Michael Roberson, David Roberson, Carter Gipson, Jersee and Emma Cate Carter, Jay and Brody Dodd; a great-great grandson, Brody Roberson; and a daughter in law, Merrill Carter. Pallbearers will be Mike Roberson, Steve Carter, Scott Roberson, Spencer Knight, Stuart Knight, Ben Roberson, Justin Roberson and Carter Gipson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the building fund at Fountain of Grace Church, 881 McQueen Smith Road South, Prattville, Alabama 36006. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Merrywood Lodge in Elmore who took wonderful care of Mrs. Carter for 9 years.
