Harlen Eugene Sanders

SANDERS, Harlen Eugene, 90, a resident of Prattville, AL and formerly of Tuscaloosa, AL, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty years Helen L. Sanders, his parents Charlie and Vertis Sanders; a brother, Hawk Sanders and a sister, Margaret Sanders. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Sanders Gallman; two grandchildren, Capt. (U.S. Army) Jeremy L. Gallman and his wife Amber; granddaughter, Emily M. Gallman; sister, Mary S. Grant (Haley); brother, Harold Lee Sanders; brother-in-law, Buddy Buck (Teresa); sister-in-laws, Shirley Levy and Kate LeRoy (Bobby); many nieces, nephews and friends, and his little dog Lucy. He loved his family dearly as well as his church family.

Harlen was a member of Alberta Baptist Church for over 75 years. He worked at Gulf States Paper Corporation and Elk Roofing. Harlen enjoyed gardening and being in the country and outdoors and was a big Alabama Football fan and Atlanta Braves fan. Hononary pallbearers will be members of Alberta Baptist Church, Employees of Gulf States Paper Corp. and Elk Roofing and new friends he made while living in Prattville.

A visitation will be held at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held in Tuscaloosa at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2013 with Rev. Herbert Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.

Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park.
