

Ford, Henry Edward, 90, longtime resident of Pratt ville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 17, 2020 in Hoover, Alabama. He is survived by his two daughters, Joy Ford Sciortino (Tony) of Mobile, Alabama; Alice Jane Ford of Pelham, Alabama. Two sons Joseph Edward Ford (Ramona) of Alabaster, and Mark Wayne Ford (Kandie) of Prattville, Alabama; a brother David Ford (Delois) of Butler, Alabama; sister-in-law Linda Ford of Pushmataha; his five beloved grandchildren Mandi Sciortino, Jared Ford (Mallory), Melissa Ford Scott (Jim), Ashley Ford and Zach Sciortino; and three great grandchildren Ava Deupree, Parker Scott, and Ellie Grace Ford; as well as a host of beloved nieces, nephews and extended family. He is preceded in death by his wife Eugenia Tims Ford; his father Henry Homer Ford; mother Alice Hall Ford; brothers Charles Ford and Robert Lee Ford
Mr. Ford was born January 18, 1930 in Lousiana. He was a member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. He was a member of several churches in Prattville: First Baptist Church, East Memorial Baptist and Prattmont Baptist. He served in the US Army from 1953 – 1955
as a pharmacy tech at Fort Hood, Texas. His professional career included: high school teacher, junior college professor and Science Consultant for the Alabama State Department of Education. During retirement he served in many volunteer positions including AARP, Retired State Teacher Association, Habitat for Humanity, and Carpenters for Christ. He served as a deacon, adult Sunday School Teacher, and Gideon.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 21 at 11:00 a.m. Followed by the funeral at noon at Rideout Brown Chapel Prattville with the Reverend Jonathan Payne, of Shades Mountain Baptist Church, officiating.
The Ford family asks for donations to be sent to the Giddeons or Missions Offering at Shades Mountain Baptist Church in Vestavia Hills, AL.
