Huie J. Gilmore

GILMORE, Huie, 85 a lifetime Prattville resident, passed away Thursday December 20, 2012. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, December 27, 2012 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Funeral Services will be Friday, December 28, 2012 at 2:00 PM from Boone's Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Boone's Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Gilmore was born August 23, 1927 in Autauga County to the late Jack and Onzell Hollon Gilmore. For over forty years he and his brother shared ownership of Gilmore Ford in Prattville. He was well liked and highly respected in the community for his hard work, dedication and fairness. He was preceded in death by his sisters and brothers, Estelle Parker, Odell Parker, Hubert Gilmore, Buford Gilmore and Donna Banks. Survivors include his loving wife of over sixty years, Betty Jean Gilmore, a daughter, Cindy McCallister, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Stan and Jennifer Gilmore, Chris Gilmore all of Prattville; seven grandchildren, Courtney Creel and her husband Matt, Mary McCallister, Sarah McCallister, McKenzie Gilmore, Mason Gilmore, Jordan Gilmore, Will Gilmore, three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and many other close relatives.
