Jacqueline "Lyn" Nell Martin, of Deatsville, Alabama, passed away on April 21, 2026, at the age of 72. She was born on May 20, 1953, in Annapolis, Maryland, to the late Lt. Colonel William Martin and Jacqueline Martin. Lyn graduated from Clear Creek High School in 1971. She began her career working for Dr. Guster before joining AIG Insurance, where she served as a claims manager for 27 years. Following her retirement, she moved to Deatsville to live with her sister.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandparents, John D. and Hart West, and Colonel Tom B. and Nell Martin.
She is survived by her daughter, Vivian Inez Free (Gerald); her grandchildren, Ashton, McKinsey, and Beckett Free; her sisters, Camille Strong (Frank Sr.) and Vivian Martin; and her brother, William Martin.
She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Jennifer Groff (Kevin and their six children), Frank Strong Jr. (daughter, Emma), Melissa Gonda (Mike and their five children), Hilary (Jason and son), and Vanessa Yohe (Eric).
Lyn will be remembered for her dedication to her family and her many years of service in her career. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
