Jake Parrish Jernigan

Jake Parrish Jernigan, age 75, a resident of Prattville, AL passed away Friday, November 10, 2017. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Saturday November 18th followed by a Celebration of Life Service with Military Honors at 2:00 PM with Minister Reed Brown officiating. Jake was born on December 21, 1941 in McKenzie, Alabama to the late John Albert Jernigan, Sr. and Essie Williamson Jernigan. He was a U.S. Army veteran who loved gardening, fishing and enjoyed collecting odds & ends. He will always be remembered for his kindness and sense of humor, even up to the last. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Douglas and Jack Jernigan. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Allie Sue Jernigan; three daughters, Anna Breed, Tracie Jernigan and Nina Jernigan; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Wanda Jernigan; eight grandchildren, Joseph Wayne Breed,II, Jacob Aaron Breed, Mandy Jernigan Poole, Kayla Beth Jernigan, Destinee Delaney, Nikole Delaney, Chloe Jernigan and Allie Delaney; four great-grandchildren, Joseph Wayne Breed III, Airon Breed, Kailyn Poole and Taylor Poole; brother and sister-in-law, John Albert and Margie Jernigan and a host of nieces and nephews.
