
James Clifford Phillips, age 96 of Prattville, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 after a brief illness. Survivors include his wife of 75 years Dorothy Phillips, daughter in law Babette Phillips, grandson James Phillips, and granddaughter Elizabeth (Tristen) Bissonnette, sisters Carlinnia Sigrest, and Clonnie (Pat) Hulsey both of Mississippi, and many loving nieces and nephews. Mr. Phillips was predeceased by his son Denis Bryan Phillips, parents Armendia and Ben Phillips, brothers Clinton Phillips, Cliatt Phillips and sister Cleeoice Pitts.
Mr. Phillips was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. A friend to many he was always eager to help others. He was a charter member of Glynwood Baptist Church and served as a deacon and church treasurer for many years. Mr. Phillips served in the United States Air Force and the United States Air Force Reserves until his retirement. He retired from the United States Air Force Reserves with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He enjoyed gardening and beekeeping for many years and sharing his knowledge with numerous friends and those new to keeping bees.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 19, 2022 at 2:00 at Glynwood Baptist Church with Reverend James Jackson of Glynwood Baptist Church officiating. Graveside services will follow at Prattville Memory Gardens with Ridout’s directing. The family will receive friends at Glynwood Baptist Church on Monday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mission Fund of Glynwood Baptist Church at 376 McQueen Smith Road, Prattville, AL 36066.
