James “Jay” Albert Rainwater, 48, of the Booth community, passed away June 8, 2026. He was preceded in death by his brother, Johnnie “Pete” Arnold Rainwater, Jr.; grandparents, James Alvin Rainwater Sr., Ruby DeRamus Rainwater, Albert Lee Crowe and Catherine Chavers Crowe. He is survived by his parents, Johnnie and Cathy Rainwater; sister, Patti Lee Rainwater (Angie) and brother, John Alvin Rainwater (Chasity); nephew John “J.P.” Pete Rainwater. And his beloved pet, Charlie.
Jay loved being outside. He loved to garden and woodworking. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
A visitation for Jay will be Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at Ridouts Prattville Chapel followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Booth Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Shane Russell. Serving as Pallbearers will be John Rainwater, Brian Chandler, Michael Chandler, J.P. Rainwater, Bert Crowe and Wesley “Wes” Crowe.
