Jennie Lee Mcewen

McEWEN, Mrs. Jennie Lee, age 84; a resident of Tallahassee, FL died on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at her residence. Jennie is survived by three sons, Don and his wife Beth of Havana, FL, Tom and his wife, Pat of Mountain Rest, SC, W. Scott McEwen of Golden, CO; six grandchildren, Jennifer, April, Rachelle, Miriam, Max and Tim, and great-grandson, Dustin. She is also survived by two sisters, Peggy Salter and her husband, Glenn of Montgomery, AL and Jerry Cox of Atlanta, GA. Jennie was preceded in death by her husband William (Bill); her parents, George and Nelta Inez Graves, brother Doug Graves, and sister Nell Avenger. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Mt. Hebron West Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held immediately following at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ken Clement officiating. A graveside service will follow at 12:00 noon at Mt. Hebron West Cemetery, Elmore, AL with Ridout’s-Brown Service Prattville Chapel Funeral Home of Prattville directing. Pallbearers will be Don McEwen, Tom McEwen, Scott McEwen, Max McEwen, Tim McEwen, and Beth McEwen. The family gratefully appreciates all the love and kindness from Jennie’s friends and church family at Mt. Hebron West Baptist Church in Elmore, AL and Immanuel Baptist Church in Tallahassee, FL. The family requests that in lieu of flowers any donations be made to assist Jennie’s youngest granddaughter, a very bright young lady with cerebral palsy.
