John Lomax Treat, 61, was born June 20, 1965, and passed away on July 28, 2026. A resident of Prattville, Alabama, John served others with steady courage and a deep sense of duty—meeting life’s demands with hard work, compassion, and a selfless willingness to step forward when he was needed most. He will be greatly missed by so many.
John’s commitment to service shaped the course of his life. He served in the United States Marine Corps, carrying forward the values of discipline and resolve. He later continued that calling as an Advanced EMT for Haynes and Care Ambulance, offering help in moments when it mattered most and bringing calm strength to difficult circumstances.
In his community, John gave generously of his time as a Volunteer Firefighter for Rolling Hills and Snowdoun Volunteer Fire Departments. In every role he held—whether in uniform, on an ambulance, or answering a call for help—his compassion was evident, and his bravery spoke through action rather than words.
Away from work and service, John was known as a fierce poker player, bringing focus and spirit to the table and sharing in the camaraderie that comes with the game.
John was preceded in death by his parents, William J and Joanne L Treat; and his sister, Joanne Lomax Treat.
He is survived by his son, John Lomax Treat II (Sabrina Ann); his brother, William J Treat III; his sister, Mary Heath (Tim); and his grandchildren, Jessie Adalyn Treat and Jamey Southern Treat.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2026 at Rolling Hills Lakes Volunteer Fire Dept., 6120 Trotman Rd., Montgomery, Al., beginning at 2:00PM.
