PENTON, Joseph Calvin “Joe”, 87, a Prattville resident, passed away Monday November 12, 2012. His funeral service were on held Wednesday (today) November 14th at 2:00 PM at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel with the Reverend Dave Burns officiating. Burial followed in Prattville Memorial Gardens. Mr. Penton was born December 4, 1924 to the late Kenneth Victor and Sadie Lee Collins Penton. He was a retired State Capitol Police Officer with fifteen years of service. Survivors include loving wife of sixty-seven years, Wray Penton; two daughters and a son; Sandra Posey, Joyce (Bill) Lackey and Ronnie (Dianne) Penton all of Prattville; one brother, Erskine (Virginia) Penton of Sylacauga, Alabama; eight grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. The Alabama State Trooper and State Capitol Police Honor Guard served as active pallbearers. Mr. Penton’s grandsons served as honorary pallbearers.
