Laura Butterworth Callahan

Laura "Gaye" Callahan, age 77 of Prattville, went home to be with the Lord on July 5, 2017. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Jones, parents Allen and Ollie Butterworth, brother, Allen Butterworth, sisters Wanda Sulser and Denise Rowlen. She is survived by her daughters Laura "Annette" Rogers (Dave) and Connie Cothron Burchett (Donnie), sons Robert Hall and Kenneth Hall, brothers Virgil Butterworth and Kenneth Butterworth, sisters Becky Bridges and Allene Gaither. She is also survived by her grandchildren Brandy, Christina, Michael, Brooke, Laura, Sidney, Courtney, Heather, Matthew, James and nine great-grandchildren. Gaye was a retired civil servant after working at Maxwell AFB. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who had one of the biggest hearts and always gave more than she ever received. She had a vibrant spirit and was always there for her family and friends when they needed her. She is the glue that always held her family together and will be missed every day for the rest of our lives. Visitation will be held Friday, July 7, 2017, Ridout's Prattville Chapel from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Graveside services will be Saturday July 8, 2017 at 10:00 AM in Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dakota Whitten, Austin Kessler, James Cothron, Dalton Lawhorn, Kenny Reeves and Donavan Mitchell. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your favorite charity.
