LaVelle Moore Hedrick, 85, a resident of Prattville, AL, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 21, 2020. A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 10:00AM at Heritage Baptist Church in Prattville, AL with Rev. Roger Parks officiating. LaVelle was born in Macon, GA to the late Charles William Moore and Ola Mae Batson and was one of 13 children. She had many hobbies and activities that she enjoyed doing, such as woodworking, gardening, cooking and canning. But her true passion was providing crochet blankets and quilts to people she wanted to help. Mrs. Hedrick touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 55 years, Barney Hedrick; sons, Billy King Johnson, Jr. (Marcia), Charles Thomas Johnson (Tracy); daughter, Leisa Hedrick Lee (Scott); sister, LaRue Babbitt; Mickey and Sandra Jones; grandchildren, B.J. Johnson (Jennifer), Kelly Johnson Trapnell (Brian), Brittany Johnson Helms (Jeppy), Caleb Johnson, Zac Lee (Brooke), Carolyn Lee Carpenter (Austin), Macie Lee; and great grandchildren, Olon Johnson, Ewan, Audrey and Emma Starrett, Anderson and Connor Trapnell, Rose, Sage and Trenton Helms, Katie Byard, Waverly Johnson, and Abigail Charlotte Lee. The family would like to give special thanks and recognition to several people that meant so much to Mrs. Hedrick during her illness: Dr. Robert Avery, the staffs at the Prattville branch of the Montgomery Cancer Center, Jackson Hospital, Prattville Baptist, Baptist Home Health and Hospice, and Dr. Charles Woolridge and PA Rick Lauderdale with Baptist Convenient Care.
