Mrs. Margaret Stephens Anderson

ANDERSON, Margaret Stephens, 91, of Montgomery and a former Prattville resident, passed away Tuesday November 5, 2013.

Funeral services will be held Friday (tomorrow) at 2:00 PM at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel with Dr. Travis Coleman and the Reverend Dave Burns officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Anderson was born in Jackson County, Alabama to the late James A. and Florence Stephens. She was a 1943 graduate of the Alabama College for Women, now the University of Montevallo. She was a longtime member of the Prattville First Baptist Church and with her love of books served as the church librarian for 31 years. She enjoyed traveling and many outdoor activities including gardening.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Howard, of Montgomery, a daughter and son-in-law, Judith A. and Michael Johnson of Charlotte, NC; her sister, Jamie Barnes of Prattville and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

Flowers are welcome or memorial contribution may be made to the Prattville First Baptist Church Library Fund, 138 South Washington Street, Prattville, Alabama 36067 or to the Alabama Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, 6030 Monticello Drive, Montgomery, Alabama 36130. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
