I was so glad for some reason that I read the Montgomery Advertiser on line today. I saw that Mary Ann had gone to heaven to be with God. I got to know her when she volunteered with my quilting program to teach my drug court participants how to make quilts. She never missed a Saturday with me down at the courthouse making quilts. She made such a profound difference in so many of my drug court participant's lives. She not only taught them how to quilt, but how to be better people. She even invited them to her church, First Baptist. Some of them actually went to church with her!

Her impact on everyone, including myself, was truly amazing. She was an extraordinary woman who not only took her faith seriously, but practiced it every minute of the day. I know she is a wonderful addition to heaven and I am so blessed to have known her.

PS- I loved the picture of her. Just how I remember her beautiful smile for everyone!

Lovely memories of Mary from our trip out West. We decided to adopt her as our Grandma. She was so gracious and kind. Mary made the most beautiful clothing for babies that passed away too early. I have a feeling all those babies were there to greet her when she went home.

It’s said that when a star dies the light from that star will hit the earth for many years after that. Miss Mary, you are unquestionably a star! I was blessed to meet you as your tour guide on our trip out west. You were by far my favorite of the 50 passengers ( Shhh don’t tell the others ) and the memories of your smile and spunk motivated me to adopt you as a Gramma and I’ve LOVED our lunches, visits, smiles and laughs since. Thank you for being a shining example of a Godly woman to so so many. I truly can’t wait to see you on the other side with all those precious babies wearing your beautiful hand made dresses. Love you Mary and see you soon :)
