ARGO, Mary Lee Rushing was welcomed into heaven on September 15, 2013. Mary Lee Rushing Argo was the oldest of five children of John and Jessie Rushing. She was preceded in death by her parents, John William and Jessie Lee Rushing, granddaughter, Amanda Carol Rawlinson, husband James Roland Argo, and brothers Mercer D., John William and Dykes Taylor Rushing. Mrs. Argo grew up in Elba, AL and served her country as a WAVE during WWII serving in Washington, DC. She worked at Gunter and Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, AL as a civilian and retired from Maxwell AFB Hospital. She has three children, James Roland Argo Jr. of Snellville, GA, Mary Carol Argo of Pelham, AL, Lee Ann Argo Rawlinson of Prattville, AL; daughter-in-law, Genie Argo; grandchildren, Jason Taylor Argo and wife Jessica, Jennifer Anne Argo, Chris McGhee, James Karl Rawlinson, and Amy Leeanne Rawlinson and great-grandson, Christopher McGhee Jr; one sister, Betty Rogers of Elba, AL. She was a member of Millbrook First United Methodist for 63 years. She enjoyed camping with family in the Smokey Mountains and was a talented artist and donated much of her art work to charity auctions and also did volunteer work at Prattville Baptist Medical Center Plaza. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 10:00 AM until Funeral Service time at 11:00 AM at Millbrook First United Methodist Church with Dr. Nathan Attwood officiating. Burial will follow in Tri-Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Millbrook First United Methodist Church or to your favorite charity.
