HUGHES, Mercer G., Sr, 80, of Prattville, AL passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2010 following an extended illness. Mr. Hughes was a retired Captain with the Montgomery Fire Department and owner of Hughes Flooring Contractors since 1958. He is survived by two sons, Mercer G. Hughes, Jr and his wife Kimberly Ann, Prattville, AL; Kenneth Byron Hughes, Red Level, AL; Grandchildren, Justin Hughes, Cory Hughes, Adam Hughes, Luke Taylor and Erin Stei n. A loving helping friend to the family, Sherrie L. Hughes. Pallbearers will be Justin Hughes, Cory Hughes, Adam Hughes, Luke Taylor, Jimmy Lightsey and Jason Gardner. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Good Hope Cemetery, Monroeville, AL with Rev. John Gaines officiating. Visitation will be held at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel on Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
